Leaving April 6. 2007 Royal Hideway........
« on: March 10, 2007, 04:04:00 PM »
Leaving April 6th 2007 for the RHE and is our first time going to Cuba. I have heard nothing but great reviews about this resort. Is there any advice that I need to know that will make the trip that much more enjoyable. Is there a dress code for dinners? and eating in the buffett. Is there a place where we can exchange our Can money at the resort? How is the food for one picky eater? Where are the best rooms located? So many more questions but that is enough for now. Counting the days......

Welcome to paradise sunnybeaches (love that name    :)

Long pants, collared shirt and closed shoes for men.
Nice dress/skirt or pants for women.

We saw everything from capris to evening gowns on the women, no matter what you wear you will fit in.

Is there a place where we can exchange our Can money at the resort?

Yes, head down the grand staircase and it is to your left as you reach the bottom.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Hello to you both,

I'm leaving Halifax on March 23rd with my husband for one excited week in paradise.  Last year we stayed at the Sandal's Hicacos in Varadero and thorougly enjoyed it.  I'm expecting RHE to blow us away as well.  Have a couple of questions one re: dressing for dinner.  We enjoy getting dress for dinner and expect to do so at fine dining restaurants, however last year my husband was able to wear "closed toed sandals" instead of his dress shoes along with his long pants.  I have been reading on other sites whereby that would suffice at RHE as well.  Do you have any comments?  Also, my brother, his wife and my little niece is traveling on the same charter, however going to the Melia Cayo Santa Maria as they have a little girl (3).  I would like to visit their resort and spend approx. 1/2 day with my niece.  Do you think that would be a problem and how could we arrange it?  Any suggestions?  Also, the catamaran day excusion.  Does it run everyday?  Thanks for your help.  Leila in Halifax
