Does anyone have experience with Villa rentals?
« on: July 28, 2007, 07:17:41 PM »
We are considering renting a couple of villas over the Christmas Break.  There are 10 of us - 2 families (kids aged 7,12,2x15,2x17).  It is certainly the most economical so far however I am not sure about what there will be to do outside of an all inclusive...  Any thoughts.....

I've looked at a couple in the Puerta Plata area and they are reasonably priced for what you get.  For about the same price as an AI you get a housekeeper and a cook.  You pay for the groceries and booze.

Are you still looking in the Punta Cana area?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

yes we are still looking in the punta cana area.  There is a couple of properties, Villas Del Sol II and Santa Maria del Sol I.  The Villas Del Sol offers the use of the AI services at the IFA Hotels in the Costa Bavaro Area.  I think for $35 - $50 per day per person??  Still trying to get more information on this. And we are being quoted $750US per week for the Villas Del Sol II for a 3 bdrm.....
