converting mov. files to avi.
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:15:57 PM »
I've downloaded some videos that I took with my kodak easyshare camera to my computer and now I'm trying to put them onto a dvd with no success.I have a CD of them that works on a computer but I want to put them on DVD for the grandparents that don't have a computer. They won't work on Media Center or Media Player. I phoned Dell to see if they could help and they suggested a program to convert the files. He downloaded one but it doesn't help. Any suggestions for a free program to convert the files?

I wish I could help you, but I'm  in the group that doesn't have a clue about such things.

Fortunately for you we have several computer techies on this board that really do know what they're talking about.

I'm sure one of them will jump in here and help you once they see this.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I haven't tried it myself, because I don't use Quick time, but it seems very straight forward.
