First time on a cruise
« on: December 18, 2009, 11:18:01 AM »
After wanting to do so for many years, I have finally booked my first cruise, departing on 13 February 2010.  I am going on a Southern Caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Summit.

Has anyone here been on a Celebrity cruise?

We've been looking at taking a cruise, but I'm still on the fence about it.

I think it would be great to visit so many islands in one trip, but on the other hand I don't really want all the big line ups.

Laura, what is your itinerary?  Do you have more days at sea or more stops?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Our itinerary is as follows:

Departure from San Juan Puerto Rico
Day 1: St. Thomas
Day 2: St. Croix
Day 3: St. Kitts
Day 4: Antigua
Day 5: St. Lucia
Day 6: at sea
Day 7: San Juan

Except for St. Kitts, which I have visited 3 times, I have never been to any of the other islands.  It should be interesting to see them.  Since I will not get off the ship in St. Kitts, I will have two days for nothing but relaxation.  The other days should be rather busy.

I may need a vacation from my vacation!

That is a good itinerary, in fact that is the one that might convince me to go on a cruise.

I would stay on the ship at St. Lucia.  I have bad memories from that place.
