Just curious: at which resort will you be staying?  I had looked at the Iberostar Cozumel but read the beach was not that great and I thought it would be full of divers and I didn't want to listen to all that "dive talk" while on holiday.  :laughing7:  Have a great time!  TC

That's one thing that is hard to avoid in Cozumel, all of the resorts are full of divers.

Tuss, I'm assuming you're staying at the Iberostar??

Here is a link to some photo's of the IB.

My tip would be to try if you get the opportunity to dive the Cenotes. Mexico has the best Cenotes in the world and it is a truly unique and fantastic experience. I was given the chance to dive them by Dressels when at the Iberostar, it's an early start but it was a great day. This would be my tip for a diving trip to Coz, I would love to spend a couple of days diving them some more, maybe not everyone's cup of tea though but a great experience that is worth trying.

Have a great trip and safe diving. I'm off to the Maldives in a week and looking forwards to getting back in the water.

Tuss, do you have a DAN policy ?

I have dug out my old photo's of diving in Coz, they are a bit crap as they're a few years old (2006) but it might give you an idea of what you might see.

Yup, staying at the iberostar.  I dived with Dressels last year in the DR, and i got a good deal thru Air Canada Vacations.  I'm travelling alone, so don't mind meeting some people at the hotel and "dive talk" is a good way.

thanks for the photo links - look forward to studying them!

The lobby bar is a great way to meet people at the Iberostar.

I should warn you that Texans love Cozumel and they fly in for wild weekends of partying so you shouldn't have a problem meeting people.

I'm not much for a "wild weekend of partying" with Texans, but I don't mind being social at the lobby bar!  Otherwise I'm also content to read quietly in the corner and go to sleep early!  Either way it's much better than work.

Any who's been to the IB Cozumel - do you remember if it had a gym and what kind of equipment it had.

Hi,
It does have a gym and the equipment was new when we were there.

They had all the usual items you would expect to find in a North American gym.

excellent - i've been weight training with a trainer and a week off will set me back quite a bit.  My trainer will be happy (me, i'm not so sure how happy, i was looking forward to a week off without excuses)
