and it's too late now, but are there any decent priced A.I.s the first week of May?  Maybe I don't look in the right places, but I couldn't find any.  So
we settled on Las Vegas.

What do you mean too late? Best time to book a last minute is the day before you go. No second thoughts, no price comparisons, no packing/repacking. Book it and drive to the airport.

   BJ:  Unfortunately we can not book a last minute, we have commitments.  Have to make sure our ducks are all in a row.  Looking forward to the time
we can book at the last minute (that will be when our grandson is older).  Just for this trip to Las Vegas we had to find out if our son could get some time off work to watch his nephew.  Our grandson's mother (our daughter) just changed jobs so she is unable to get time off.

Booking last minute is easily accomplished. You just need to know when you're going and make arrangements for someone to feed your ducks that week. Unless you have your heart set on a specific resort or you're meeting someone flying in from another area, just book the day before you go. You know you're going somewhere during that week, you find out where the day before you get on the plane.

   So disappointing if there was nothing.  Guess nothing ventured, nothing gained.  We were concerned of that fact, and then would of been screwed for getting a decent price to Las Vegas. 

   Got to try it sometime.  That would be an adventure.

My best was booking Saturday night at 9 to leave Sunday morning at 6. I don't think I will ever beat that. Our bags were packed, the sitter arranged. We knew we were leaving Sunday going somewhere.

    Last night my husband and I were talking and realized we should of checked our options through Expedia.  When we were in El Salvador a couple of months ago we met two females at the resort who booked their trip through Expedia.  One flew out of Buffalo, the other Atlanta.

Bebbie, the prices for late April are staying higher this year because Easter is so late this year (my unprofessional opinion only lol). It's completely mucking up my plans to get away this spring. Late April is my favourite time to go away, but I refuse to pay the prices that are still showing up. I know what I've paid in the past to go at that time and cannot get my head around the fact that prices are still hundreds of dollars more than I will pay. I have so much going on in May that the latest I can take off is Friday April 30 and even though that's past easter, the prices are still too high

May not end up going anywhere this spring 

i saw some good post-march break deals, but March was too busy at work with year-end to get away

  Perhaps that is the reason.  We were looking at going around April 30th. 
  Just don't get it - looking at the travel section today most southern destinations were priced for May 6th and on.

   Las Vegas the first week in May is where we will be.  Getting pumped.....we are renting a car this time and will be heading to Valley of Fire
   for a day.   

   Done Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon a few times.  No need to see them again.  (We would if we were going with anyone who
   had never been.)

  That would be interesting to see.......but I don't scuba or snorkel.
